The World's Garbage Problem

People consumed many things and generated much garbage in these days and it is quite common things for human. Every people cannot stop throwing away trash for living in this society. Until up to now, people utilized mainly two methods, burying and burning in order to incinerate garbage which people generated. However, these former methods are getting helpless because the amount of garbage exceeds the landfill on the earth.

Because of that, some people especially children are suffering from trash which is not disposed. Notwithstanding, a few people consider seriously that this problem is a very tense situation because people, especially in developed country, cannot see the situation that garbage is brimmed over with roads and river in their daily life. Therefore, today, this blog is taken up the world’s garbage problem for discussion to make people rethink this problem more deeply.   

According to Mark,T.(2012), “The amount of municipal solid waste will rise from the current 1.3bn tones a year to 2.2bn by 2025. The annual cost of solid waste management is projected to rise from $205bn to $375bn, with cost increasing most sharply in poorer countries.”  This is why, the amount of waste will increase more from now on and poor countries become more and more conspicuous. However, we have to disposal of waste more if wastes are continued to increase, and we need more money to disposal of it. Because poor country cannot afford to disposal of it, there environment will be worse if the amount of waste are increasing. In short, the more the amount of municipal solid waste increased, the more the disparity between developed country and poor country widens.

In some Asian countries where the waste problems are particularly extreme, children are exploited by this problem.

Children who have not money go to a garbage dump and earn a little money to pick up them even there are in river. Moreover, This video shows that children make a living  while eating the food which is thrown away by some one on the road because they are poor. Some children suffer from serious disease because they work in these inferior conditions or they eat such a food.

The one of the worse cases which children were exploited by garbage problems is that children in Behar in India forced to work huge garbage dump instead of an exemption of tuition. Without working at this dump, government decided that children in Behar cannot go to school. Of course,  the situation which rubbish brimmed over with the region was not made by only children in Bihar. Because the government had no money to hire sanitation workers, they took advantage of  the fact that children do not need any remuneration to exploit children though an education and this problems should not be connected.  

This is why, in some poor Asian countries, children are exploited so as to disposal of garbage in their town even if they did not have any responsibility of that. Therefore, children’s health and future are exposed themselves to danger. On the other hand, these condition also helps these poor people to make a living.

However, this problem is not only problem for poor countries.

Russia also suffers from same situation. On the road, wastes are strewn around, but it seems that no one doesn’t care about it.

Even Naples in Italy, rubbish are strewn around even if the town are well known as the top three of world night scene. Naples cannot keep up the disposal of a large quantity of rubbish. Therefore, a large amount of rubbish is full to overflowing.  

Usually, we tend to think that the garbage problems are serious in poor countries and it is not familiar problem for people especially who live in developed country. Actually, the depth of garbage problem in developing country is worse than in developed country because it is related to public finance directly. As a result of that, there are some cases that children are exploited by adults and are forced to live in inferior conditions. However, in these days, we cannot say that the problems are not related to us. Developed countries also face the lack of an industrial waste disposal plant. It means, there is no landfill to bury them in. If we continue to take out garbage, ｔhe day when garbage overflows on the earth is not so far. Therefore, all things we can do now is to think more seriously about this problems and to reduce the amount of waste. We already know that, but the number of people who do that actually is not so many. It is time to take action. If we especially living in developed country succeed in reducing the amount of garbage, it must be influence on the developing countries environment and we can help them to reduce or dispose them which are already overflowed on the region.
Anyway, the world garbage problem is quite serious. There is no difference between developed countries and developing countries. The things we generated have to be disposed on our own. So, please do not dismiss this problem.
It is time to take action toward garbage problem while cooperating with people from all over the world.
